Exploring the physical and creative boundaries of a period terrace property
Maximising space, light and creativity at every opportunity this artistic-led extension and full redevelopment just north of Chichester shows just what’s truly possible with a period terrace house.
In partnership with Open Design Studio architects, the project involved a considered rear and side extension, include show-stopping roof lights, rear opening picture window and sunken seating area. The first floor was also structurally adapted to extend the family bathroom and vault the master bedroom to give an extra sense of space. The loft was developed to allow for a sizeable fourth bedroom and shower room.
Some of the key features of the development include a unique curved tiled facade to the rear extension, deep red zinc cladding, an external copper bath and burnt larch garden room as well as an abundance of playful design choices internally with glass blocks, forcrete flooring, bespoke joinery and pattern wallpapers.
